Baltimore Aircoil Company, an American manufacturer of industrial refrigeration systems, entrusts part of its SAP implementation programme to the Mechelen-based IT company Canguru. 'We build a bridge between business and technology.'

Baltimore Aircoil (BAC) is a world leader in developing, manufacturing and distributing innovative evaporative cooling and heat removal solutions for a wide range of industries. BAC's products are distinguished by their durability and by their energy and water efficiency.

In early 2020, Baltimore Aircoil decided to transform its decentralised global IT systems into one central SAP environment. Baltimore Aircoil's head office for Europe, the Middle East and Asia is located in Heist-op-denBerg and found in its backyard an expert Belgian SAP Customer Experience partner: the Mechelen IT company Canguru.

"We are a young and dynamic consulting firm and a dedicated SAP partner," says Geert De Winter of Canguru. Since its foundation in 2011, the people from Mechelen have worked for more than 100 companies in over 150 projects. 'With Canguru we build the bridge between business and technology and we help customers with Customer Experience, (Integration) Technology, Analytics and Enterprise Resource Planning or ERP, among others.'

The SAP programme includes both ERP (Purchasing Management, Sales Administration,

Finance, Logistics and Production) as well as Customer Experience. 'Canguru will implement the Customer Experience sub-programme (CRM, Field Service Management, Configure-Price-Quote (CPQ) and Commissions Management) for Baltimore Aircoils operations in the US, Asia and Europe. In Canguru, we have found a partner that will think with us to make this Customer Experience programme a success,' says Tim Buzby, Vice President Business Transformation at Baltimore Aircoil. The programme will launch in early 2021, with a first go-live in Asia by the end of this year. Roll-outs in the US and Europe are planned for 2022.

Canguru is known in the market for its extensive knowledge in the field of sales support systems. Their experience with CPQ as well as the knowledge of the underlying ERP principles were again decisive in this case. Think with CPQ of applications such as the configurator on the website of the car manufacturer, where complex combination rules are enforced and always lead to a correctly composed end product, often with specific customer prices.Canguru decided to use this niche knowledge to start a European business development programme in 2021, after successful implementations in Belgium and France. This way Canguru wants to assist SAP and its local partners throughout Europe with the implementation of powerful sales support applications.
